MSC impact

Evidence first. Projections clearly labelled.

MSC separates confirmed participation from future estimates. That keeps the impact story useful as the initiative develops without presenting expected reach as an achievement that has already happened.

ConfirmedTo date
443

Students supported at HAPU

Confirmed Host School reach supported by MSC to date.

Projected2026-27
~615

Projected HAPU reach

Estimated reach under the proposed wider MSC structure for 2026-27.

Projected2026-27
~2,000

Projected network reach

Expected overall reach as MSC expands to additional schools in 2026-27.

What the figures mean

Confirmed reach and projected reach are different things.

443 students is the confirmed figure for students MSC has supported at Harris Academy Purley to date.

The figures of approximately 615 at HAPU and approximately 2,000 across the wider network describe expected reach for 2026-27. They are projections, not completed participation.

More than one number

Impact also includes how MSC develops.

Student reach is one useful measure, but the wider impact story should remain grounded in factual milestones rather than invented marketing statistics.

Established

Host School foundation

MSC began at Harris Academy Purley on 23 September 2024, giving the initiative a clear origin and a base for its early delivery.

Development

Broader forms of participation

MSC developed beyond a small competition into lessons, clubs, subject projects, practical challenges, student leadership and larger STEM activity.

2026-27 direction

A shared standard for schools

The shared curriculum and school-specific delivery work together so every school can offer MSC in a way that fits its students and context.
