Overall MSC curriculum
Objects. Planet. People.
The Year 7-9 curriculum is shared across MSC schools. Each year connects Science, Maths and Computing through a different context while keeping practical work, evidence, adaptation and communication at the centre.
One curriculum
A common foundation for every participating school.
School pages explain local delivery. They do not rewrite the curriculum. This area is the canonical MSC curriculum and keeps the full strand aims, lesson progression, products, assessment evidence and delivery boundaries in one place.
Year 7-9
A three-year STEM progression.
Each year has its own theme, perspective and cross-subject sequence.
Improvisation & Adaptation
Year 7 introduces MSC through purposeful adaptation. Across Science, Maths and Computing, students begin with an existing problem, idea or solution, investigate how it works, make a reasoned change, test the effect and improve the result. The shared emphasis is that a solution does not have to remain the same: strong adaptations have a purpose and are supported by evidence.

Climate Change
Year 8 uses the 2026 Dunwich Heath wildfires as a connected real world context. Science develops understanding of wildfire cause, spread, risk and response. Maths then uses that understanding to model a more resilient fictional visitor and conservation site. Computing completes the sequence by turning scientific and mathematical understanding into a clear digital wildfire information screen for visitors.
- 01Understand Risk
- 02Model & Decide
- 03Design & Communicate
The Hidden Reality of Mental Health
Year 9 explores how STEM can help students think more carefully about human experience without reducing people to simple explanations or numbers. Science focuses on assumption, context, wellbeing and response. Maths applies practical planning skills to a fictional wellbeing festival. Computing focuses on responsible digital communication through a screen based awareness campaign.

How to read the curriculum
Start with a year overview, then open the individual strands.
Each year page explains how the three subjects connect. Separate Science, Maths and Computing pages then show the detailed lesson journey, main investigation, student products, assessment evidence, judging criteria where applicable, and the boundaries that keep delivery safe and purposeful.
